About cultural appropriation:
In recent years, many journalists have questioned the notion of cultural appropriation, particularly in the sector of contemporary artistic creation. Indeed, some artists are inspired by, even reproduce, cultural codes belonging to cultures different from their own.
While some prefer to speak of "inspiration", others seem to warn about the potential "appropriation" of the other's culture. What motivates those who take up existing cultural codes in order to do something else? Is it possible, while taking inspiration from a foreign culture, to do so with respect for foreign heritage?
